Find answers to frequently asked questions about our yoga classes, registrations, levels, equipment and more.
Before starting practice, it is recommended that you:
- Do not eat for at least 2 hours before class.
- Inform the teacher of any health issues (including pregnancy).
- Tell the teacher if you do not want to be adjusted.
During practice:
- Turn off all electronic devices.
- Remove all jewelry.
- You may be surprised to learn that drinking is also discouraged. We encourage you to stay well hydrated throughout the day!
- Do a shavasana for at least 15 minutes to allow your nervous system to rest and integrate the practice so that the transformative effect can take place properly.
After class:
- Do not drink or eat immediately after your practice. Start slowly with a glass of warm water so as not to shock the nervous system and to fully integrate the effects of the practice (see the blog for more information).
We welcome arrivals between the start time and end time. However, please arrive early enough to allow for 1.5 hours of practice. You are only in the class for the duration of your practice.
It is not recommended to start practicing during pregnancy. However, if you already have experience with the practice, you can continue. It is advisable not to practice during the first trimester. Your teacher will give you the appropriate modifications for your condition.
Yes, yoga is for all ages. It is important to adapt the practice to your age, but above all to your current condition. That is why we offer three methods: Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa Krama, and Pranayama.
Through the Mysore style, we can adapt the practice to each person according to their current condition. This is difficult to do in a guided class.
Intro classes are held in the same room as Mysore sessions to allow students with more basic experience to begin to feel more comfortable in a self-practice environment.
In addition, this overlap concerns energy. As a student, you will feel drawn to the wonderful energy you feel from other practitioners as you work side by side at your own pace.
Practice can release and unblock emotions stored in the body and mind. This is a healthy part of the process and certainly the most valuable. Bringing your dark side to light is also part of the process.
