January 11: How to develop intelligence in yoga asana practice?


The practice of  Yoga asana is often misunderstood as :

- Repeated mechanical movements. Believing that by attending class regularly and simply listening to the instructor's counting, every aspect of our being will naturally improve. - Perfect posture is the primary concern. Countless techniques are crammed into the mind with the aim of achieving the same so-called perfect posture seen somewhere. 

- Practice, practice, practice and everything will come. Without a clear understanding of how the breath connects mind and body, practising without direction, what will it really achieve?  


The aim of asana practice is to maintain or restore health to body and mind.  Much of the confusion in yoga stems from considering the form of an asana as the goal, as an end in itself.  


Instead, we must seek to develop correctness and intelligence through practice, in order to experience the happiness of the moment. In other words, the goal should not be the asana itself, but the qualities involved in being able to assume that bodily position. This is a crucial distinction, as it is possible to adopt certain asanas without developing such qualities. To focus on the ideal form of an asana without paying sufficient attention to the effect of practice on the structural qualities of the body is to lose sight of the real purpose of the asana. 


When we understand how to set up the breath and movement involved in an asana with the qualities in their correctness, we have understood the asana that will have all the benefits of unity.  

 

February 08: How to develop intelligence in pranayama practice?


Many of us are overwhelmed in modern life. We struggle to manage our energy, find rest, and bring positive feelings to our mind and body. In this Pranayama workshop, with exceptional depth and clarity, will guide you in the practices of balancing energy, cultivating rest & recovery, impart insights to understand the ancient wisdom underpinning these topics in yoga, explore modern and practical applications, and help  develop your adaptability in daily life.


Based on T. Krishnamacharya's teaching approach, we explore how Pranayama can be applied to the fundamentals of health care and therapy.

 

March 08: How to develop intelligence in holistic practice?


Yoga is a vast topic.  For overall physical, mental and spiritual health are truly holistic.  For some people, we emphasized diet changes; for others, asana; and for still others, pranayama.


We propose to use the following as approaches to enhance holistic health:

  • Asanas, which he describes as movement of the body parts along with breathing.

  • Changes in diet based on Ayuvedic knowledge.

  • Pranayama

  • Disciplined lifestyle and certain key changes in habits according to the disease.

  • Meditation or chanting.


This will bring you greater precision in your life and your practice.
