An opportunity to work through some of the accumulated stress in these times, and open the way to calmness and new inspiration.
Integrating fundamental principles to allow you to include the power and focus of traditional breathing methodology in various settings and practices.
◎ This 3-hour workshop consists of four parts :
(1) Vinyasa Krama Yoga postures
(2) Yoga Nidra. Survey of Body
(3) Learn how to plan a individualized Pranayama sequence for practice
(4) Meditation
“Pranayama leads to this. Pratyahara, to see without the senses distracting or pulling the mind, and Dharana –To see without the mind losing itself, because of coloring or expectations. Dhyana (State of being) arises out of this.” – TKV Desikachar
Krishnamacharya gives the following definitions for disease: “Śāririka mānasika aindriyaka vyutthāna avasthā vyādhiḥ”, meaning that disease is a state of disturbance either at the body level, the mental level or the level of the senses.
On a mental and emotional level, Pranayama calm a stressed or fearful mind, bring lightness when someone feels constricted or depressed, help with focusing the mind, strengthen self-confidence and help restraint negative thinking.
